Ground Breaking Ceremony - September 30, 2009

A ground breaking ceremony was held on September 30 for the Hot Sulphur Springs Water Project. It was attended by members of the community, town board members, town staff, people who have helped on this project and by employees of Garney Companies, Inc, the general contractor.

It is an important step forward for Hot Sulphur Springs water quality and quantity. The time frame from the project conception, through engineering, approval and bid award processes was swift and was accomplished by the hard work of many people, especially the town board and staff.

The people in this photograph are Geoff Elliott from Grand Environmental Services, Program Manager & Owner's Representative; Curt Thompson from Merrick & Company, Project Manager/Engineer; Hershal Deputy, Hot Sulphur Springs Mayor; Matt Sugar, Regional Representative for Senator Mark Udall; Andy Poirot, District Engineer from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment; and Ed Duerr from Ed Duerr, Inc., Assistant Project Manager/Engineer.
